Valentines
A quiet bungalow on Exmoor's edge, cutting bills with battery-backed solar.

The brief
Sue called us because the energy bills at Valentines, her bungalow on the edge of Dulverton, had crept up to a point where she'd had enough. She wasn't after the latest tech - just a properly designed system that would cut her bills, store what the panels generated during the day, and let her enjoy the evenings using her own electricity instead of buying it back from the grid at peak rates.
What we installed
12 × Aiko 465W all-black panels - 5.58kWp in total
Sigenergy hybrid inverter setup (6kW + 5kW controllers)
9.04kWh Sigenergy SigenStor battery
Octopus Go tariff with Smart Export Guarantee for grid exports
Sigenergy's modular battery system means Sue can add capacity later if her usage changes.
The result
3,899kWh generated per year
£749 projected saving on electricity bills in year one
79% self-sufficient with the battery doing the heavy lifting overnight
11-year payback, £26,057 lifetime saving
Installed in three days on site.
